Despite having been to France on many occassions I have never paid a visit to Paris. Claire had been before and highly recommended it.  We stayed in the Hotel De Nemours which was situated between the Bastille and Republique areas of the city.

Even in the winter the city is buzzing with tourists who flock in huge numbers to the Eiffel Tower, Arc De Triomphe, Sacre Coeur and Le Louvre.  Much to our delight, we found that Notre Dame and the Palais de Versailles were quiet enabling us to take our time and 'savour the moment'.
